Chairman of QTSC achieved CIO Awards 2011

Ho Chi Minh City, 9th September, 2011: Mr. Chu Tien Dung – Chairman of Quang Trung Software City Development Company Limited (QTSC) was selected and recognized one of 12 the most outstanding CIOs 2011 in ASEAN - CIO AWARDS 2011. It will be hold on September 28, 2011 at Sheraton hotel, Hanoi.

Mr. Chu Tien Dung has greatly contributed to the development of QTSC especially in IT applications. Based on the project "Cloud computingtechnology to build data center infrastructure which provide services for ITapplications (e-government) of Ho Chi Minh City and IT enterprises", QTSC has pioneered and become the provider based on cloud computingtechnology in Vietnam soon, changing attitudes and business processesof IT service providers.

The purpose of this project is to take advantage of QTSC to focus on customers are the Government in implementing IT applications in state agencies and to provide similar services to businesses in and outside QTSC.

Besides, under his leadership, QTSC has also received the ISO 27001:2005 certificate for data security in March 2011.

Mr. Chu Tien Dung is a member of the steering committee to establish QTSC (2000). Then, he worked as Deputy CEO and CEO from 2000 to 2010. At the present, he is charging Chairman of QTSC.

The CIO Awards – Chief Information Officer Awards has started its inception in 2005 under the initiative of International Data Group (IDG Vietnam) in conjunction with National Steering Committee on ICT - Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Home Affairs and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry(VCCI) to recognize and honor outstanding CIOs whose practical initiatives and leadership have greatly contributed to the development of their organizations in particular and of socio-economics in general.
