PRESS RELEASE

VNITO CONFERENCE 2017

Vietnam – Asia Tier 1 Delivery Destination

(Ho Chi Minh City, August 08, 2017) – The 2nd International Conference on ITO/BPO[1] in Vietnam, co-organized by VNITO Alliance, Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) and Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC); supported by HCMC Computer Association (HCA) and Vietnam Resource & IT Development Group (VIDG), will be taking place on October 19-20, 2017 at GEM Convention Center (08 Nguyen Binh Khiem, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). The conference would attract 500 participants including top thinkers, strategists, and professionals of the industry together with reputed investors from America, Europe, Japan, etc. and representatives from the enterprises, academia and the government of Vietnam. VNITO Conference is the biggest bi-annual[2] conference in ITO/BPO in Vietnam, aiming at promoting Vietnam as an emerging IT services destination among the top IT service provider countries in the world.

Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, President of VNITO Alliance, CEO of QTSC expresses: “According to Cushman & Wakefield (2016), Vietnam was successively ranked No. 1 BPO and Shared Service Location in the world; Jones Lang LaSalle (2017) in their report early this year graded HCMC (#2) and Hanoi (#7) in Top 10 global City Momentum Index (CMI). Most importantly, Gartner (2016) placed Vietnam in APAC’s Top 6 Primary Locations of Global Delivery Country Destinations. That’s a rewarding endorsement and the motivation for us to put up the slogan for VNITO Conference 2017 as “Vietnam – Asia Tier 1 Delivery Destination”.

Besides that, Quang Trung Software City in HCM City is ranked #3 out of eight software parks in Asia evaluated by KPMG Vietnam based on indicators such as occupancy rate, quality of supporting services and onsite infrastructure. KPMG Vietnam compiled another report based on a tenant-centered analysis, and QTSC was standing #4 in the list, which took into accounts the attractiveness for foreign investors, the number of companies located in the park, the quality of human resources and other factors. These facts and data inarguably generate powerful attraction and expose strong backgrounds for any IT entrepreneurs who want to do business effectively in Vietnam”.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Le, Chairman of TMA Solutions, VNITO’s Advisory Board member, says: “The outsourcing industry in Vietnam embraces many opportunities and challenges. The opportunities are that more and more people know about Vietnam, many organizations rank Vietnam high in the map of IT processing world and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 comes up with a high demand for IT human resources. Nevertheless, the challenges are how to meet the global requirements and develop the industry in a long-term and sustainable way. In order to do that, there must be a contribution of all stakeholders in ICT. That is why we have to proactively promote the image of Vietnam's IT industry through international events such as VNITO Conference”.

Recommended by Mr. Hung Q. Nguyen, Chairman/CEO of LogiGear Corporation, “We need to empower and enhance the professional ability of the youth, especially the millennium leaders who will promote the prestige and image of Vietnam IT industry. And to have a breakthrough, we should prioritize and innovate in researching and developing new methodologies and technologies using automation, AI, clouds, etc. to compete with other regional and global players in the world”.

“VNITO Conference 2017” provides trusted information source about Vietnam’s IT industry from IDG, KPMG, etc. There would be more than 20 thematic speeches delivered by high-profiled speakers on Big Data, IoT, Cloud, AI, Agri-tech, E-Commerce/Retail, Logistics, Fin-tech, Smart-city, VN Human Resource, VN IT Education, VN ICT Infrastructure, and “Why Vietnam?” during the conference.

This year, VNITO Conference 2017 receives special care and backing by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) as well as distinctive support by well-respected advisors from KPMG, VJC, EUROCHAM and IT corporate leaders in Vietnam and overseas. In addition, VNITO Conference 2017 also focuses on promoting the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector and investment in localities such as Lam Dong provinces, where there is a high potential for IT development in the South Central Highland regions, besides HCMC, Danang, and Hanoi. Another key feature of VNITO Conference 2017 is that it is not only promoting the IT outsourcing but also expanding connectivity to other sectors such as high-tech agriculture and introducing new technologies and solutions by IT businesses.

To date, VNITO Conference 2017 attracted about 140 participants of which more than 40 coming from overseas. More and more registrations are rushing in on Aug and Sep 2017. We believe to reach 500 audiences soon in early October and make it a valuable opportunity for participants to connect and cooperate with each other in particular and to promote VN IT industry in general.

Prior to the Press Conference, VNITO Alliance has been launching promotion campaign for the 2017 VNITO Conference since mid-2016 via workshops and briefings to the local and international IT communities. Since the beginning of 2017, VNITO Alliance has organized 6 seminars in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi; 4 workshops in Japan, 2 promotion trips in the United States and Singapore. Furthermore, the Alliance has worked directly with nearly 10 consulate/international organizations in Vietnam to invite foreign enterprises to attend the event such as AMCHAM, EUROCHAM, AUSTRADE, AUSCHAM, JETRO, KOTRA, Consulate of Singapore, Consulate of Hungary, Consulate of France, etc. VNITO Alliance is also continuing to organize seminars in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Can Tho to keep disseminating information about VNITO Conference 2017 to Vietnam IT community.
