Leaders of media agencies in Ho Chi Minh City visited the Smart city model of QTSC

In the afternoon of May 30th, 2019, the Editors-in-chief, Southern representatives and journalists of press and television agencies had a visit to learn more about the Smart city model at Quang Trung Software City (QTSC).

Opening the meeting, Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long – CEO of QTSC introduced an overview of QTSC and the smart city model, as well as gave a demo of the Integrated Operation Center of Quang Trung Software City (QTSC IOC).

At the meeting, Mr. Long shared that QTSC IOC had been deployed since 2016 and now had implemented nearly 30 modules. Particularly, the system had 10 integrated modules including: Smart public lighting system, Wastewater treatment system, Building management system BMS, Smart traffic management system, Storage – Share – documents security integrated multi-functional printer, Automatic meter reading (AMR), Smart water, Accounting report, SMS, Wifi Marketing system.

Mr. Long affirmed that after a period of implementing QTSC IOC, the quality of internal administration activities including monitoring infrastructure, ensuring security and living environment/wastewater, increasing community satisfaction has improved significantly.

In addition, Mr. Long also introduced a wide range of technology applications that media agencies can apply such as the Internal management system, Sharing system which facilitates users in sharing documents and images, at the same time ensures the confidentiality of information, and Reporter management system (editorial offices can monitor reporters, especially reporters in the investigation section, to know where reporters go, what reporters do for safety purpose).

At the end of the meeting, the delegation visited QTSC R&D Labs - a place to research and develop products and solutions, support companies with technology research and application activities, as well as attract many leading experts in the field of R&D technology. Then, they visited the Agriculture Center of Excellence - an area dedicated to research and test new technologies in high-tech agriculture. In the future, QTSC will upgrade it to a Smart village model with the aim to provide technology experiences suitable with the context of IT application in agriculture and rural areas in Vietnam.
