QTSC Chain summarized 2019 second quarter activities

In the morning of June 20, Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) Chain Management Council had a meeting at Thua Thien Hue Center of Information Technology (HueCIT) to review its results in the second quarter as well as plan the activities for the third quarter.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Kim Phuong - Manager of Strategy & Marketing Department, QTSC summarized Chain’s activities in the first half year and expected plan in the last one.

Following the program, the potential members including HueCIT and Mekong Information Technology Park in Tien Giang (Mekong ITP) proposed to the QTSC Chain Management Council and the delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) on admitting them to QTSC Chain. Accordingly, Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long – CEO of QTSC reported to the MIC’s delegation and the Council if Mekong ITP was admitted to the Chain, it would develop as "IT Application in Agriculture and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)", and HueCIT as "IT Application in Culture - Tourism".

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Phan Thien Dinh said that the admission of HueCIT into QTSC Chain was highly concerned by the provincial leaders and got great agreement and support of the Chain Management Council, as well as MIC during the past time. Up to now, HueCIT has ensured common standards such as: operating in accordance with the functions and tasks of the centralized information technology park; having a professional management structure to handle daily tasks; having capable of attracting investment, creating a startup environment/wastewater for SMEs; having capable of attracting high quality human resources; having a favorable geographical position, being able to connect with IT human resource training centers or IT research and development centers; having advanced and modern telecommunications infrastructure and services; ensuring favorable logistics services, and so on.

Currently, procedures and conditions for admission of HueCIT and Mekong ITP into QTSC Chain have been basically completed. The Chain Management Council will continue to speed up the remaining procedures to submit to the MIC for consideration and appraisal, then submit to the Prime Minister signing the admission document as soon as possible.

Also, Ms. To Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of Information Technology Department highly appreciated the determination and efforts of Thua Thien Hue and Tien Giang in integrating HueCIT and Mekong ITP into QTSC Chain, as well as shared that Hue was an area with potential for IT development, especially human resources. The MIC will actively support the remaining steps so as to submit to the Prime Minister aiming to early admit HueCIT and Mekong ITP into Quang Trung Software City Chain.
