From October 30th to November 15^th, 2020, Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) cooperated with the fire fighting and prevention police of District 12 to conduct a firefighting rehearsal at eight office buildings including QTSC Building 9, QTSC Building 1, Helios, QTSC Incubator, Hall 10, Hall 6A, Hall 5 and Hall 8.

This firefighting rehearsal took place in three weeks at eight office buildings with the same rehearsal scenario:

• Step 1: The first fire alarm resounded (in 10 seconds), QTSC’s security staff and property management team looked for where the fire came from and announced to keep employees calm via the loudspeaker system.
• Step 2: When the second fire alarm resounded, QTSC’s security staff and property management team required all employees to escape from the building by stairs immediately with the instruction given by building’s security to evacuate quickly. Especially, they were not allowed to use the elevator when the building is on fire. 
• Step 3: The building’s security practiced rescue by using fire extinguishing systems at the building such as CO² fire extinguishers, powder fire extinguishers, and fire hoses to stave off the small fires. Additionally, they also provided first aid, rescued and left the injured person quickly.
• Step 4: When the trucks of the Fire fighting and prevention police of District 12 arrived at the scene. Firefighters used a fire hose to get a fire under control and crane trucks to approach places of the building where QTSC security was unable to access to save staff safely.
• Step 5: In parallel with the Fire fighting and prevention police of District 12, QTSC security used the fire hose to extinguish fire outside of the building in 10 minutes.
• Step 6: At the end of the rehearsal, QTSC security packed up the equipment, cleaned up the building and surrounding area.

The fire drill organized annually at QTSC with an aim to increase employees’ awareness of fire safety and provide a practice session of escape and rescue plan to warrant safety and security for staff in any emergency situation. QTSC’s security and security guard service companies operating at QTSC had the opportunity to practice firefighting and prevention on the spot.
